Dom Machen developed a passion for drumming at a young age and has not looked back. Since inspired, he has established a strong reputation in the music scene and is becoming one of Brisbane’s most in demand drummers.

He completed his Bachelor of Music at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University where he studied jazz drums under John Parker and Paul Hudson. During his time there, Dom received the Sid S.J Bromley Jazz Award for Outstanding Student (2020) and the Griffith Awards for Academic Excellence (2018, 2019, 2020).

In recent years, Dom has performed with international artists, Joshua Breakstone (USA), Libor Smoldas (Czechia), Marco Pacassoni (Italy) and well regarded Australian artists including Nadje Noordhuis, Steve Newcomb, James Sandon, Jeff Usher, Andrew Butt, Peter Walters, Chris Stover, and The View From Madeleine's Couch to name but a few. He continues to perform throughout South East Queensland in a range of styles including jazz, funk, pop, Brazilian, and other contemporary music genres.

Dom has been teaching drums since 2018 and deals with a wide range of ages and skill levels. He enjoys sharing his musical knowledge and enthusiasm with his students and helping them reach their potential.
